Early on in life I intended to go for university studies in my city. I directed my own education from early on with stong interests in natural biology and the ocean. I was fortunate that Montreal had many important universities at that time period: Loyola College, McGill University, Sir George Williams University, Universite de Montreal. I enjoyed going to the McGill University Science Museum when it was open to the public and I knew that one day I would attend McGill! It was my intention.

1978 McGill University - M.Sc. in Computer Science (Applied)

After completing my studies in computer science at Loyola College of Montreal, I pursued post-graudate studies to obtain a masters in computer science degree at McGill University, School of Computer Science. At McGill, I pursued an a two year applied masters degree where I learned about advanced computer research studies and I was able to work on interesting projects thanks to my mentors, Mr. Gerald Ratzer and Dr. Godfried Toussaint . I learned a lot about taking projects from start to finish, which would be instrumental in my corporate career.

1980 McGill University - B.Sc. in Microbiology & Immunology

In the years I studied at Loyola College of Montreal,I did a most unusal thing, I minored in Biology! The reason was that I had intentions of incorporating the Biomedical sciences with computer science, at that time. So it was that I enrolled at McGill University, the Faculty of Medicine, in Microbiology & Immunology to complete my bachelors degree in biology under the montership of Dr. Eddie C.S. Chan. It was during this time period that I developed an interest in Mycology (Mushrooms) and Marine Biology at McGill University returing to my early interests in natural biology.

1974 Loyola College - B.Sc. in Computer Science (cum laude)

In the year I matriculated from Marynount High School, Quebec instituted a two-year collegial program throughout the province. I was accepted to Loyola College of Montreal, a jesuit school. There I discovered both computer science and biology and post my two years of collegial, I entered the three university program in computer science as my major with a minor in biology. I learned a lot about computers under the mentorship of Dr. Bipin C. Desai. Loyola College was the only institution in Quebec who offered a bachelors in computer science. I obtained my degree in 1974 issued by Universite de Montreal, since Loyola College was never given the charter to issues degrees.

In that year of 1974, Loyola College did not obtain the degree granting charter and was obliged to merge with Sir George Williams University to create a single entity called Concordia University. I was the last graduating class from Loyola College.

1968 Marymount High School - Matriculated in Advanced Science

I attended Marynount High School in Montreal for four years where I started to prepare for a career in science later to be in computer technology. At Marymount High, I joined the photography club and learned about photography and lab work while working for the graduate yearbook. Thanks to Marymount High I learned all about photography and started my own darkroom. I now do digital photography and use photoshop for my images in web design. It was a lot of fun!
